Rosanna Morris has been drawing and painting since childhood and began making prints while she was at school. She went on to study Illustration at Camberwell School of Art, where she developed her own unique style. Using traditional techniques and methods and accompanying them with the aesthetic of contemporary illustration.
She spent time in Mexico where she visited various Printmaking collectives but it was in Oaxaca that she deepened her relationship with the medium of Relief, and began to understand the potential for Print as a means of communication and a collaborative process. In 2016 Rosanna co-founded Cato Press for printing, teaching, and facilitating a space for members of the studio.
Rosanna has also long been interested in sustainability especially in relation to food sovereignty and growing food. Many of her prints explore these themes and the idea of using print as a means of communication.
Rosanna also takes illustration commissions and enjoys the creative challenge of working to a brief. Previous projects include four animation’s on land use for the 2017 film In Our Hands, album artwork for Fitty Gomash, Band of Burns and Jimmy Aldridge and Sid goldsmith , and editorial illustrations for the Bristol Cable. In 2018 she was commissioned to develop a series of 12 prints illustrating the work of sustainable farmers for The Landworkers’ Alliance.
